Whats going on with my bank account?
I work for a bank and do “stop payments” on a daily basis, and the problem occurs more then you would think. Your credit card will show it being paid up to two weeks, since you paid your cards online the payment is basically lost in the air 🙂 you will most likely have to pay a fee with your credit card company, what you did is almost the same thing as bouncing a check. I wish your friend is correct, but it will catch up to you. (you might want to check your account daily, your credit card payments might try to come through as a different balance due a “late charge” only the amount you gave the CSR will get stoped) I hope this helps.
Chances are, the electronic path was laid prior to the actual funds being cleared. Check it in a few days and it will probably show up like it should be. If the credit card company charges a fee, what might the fee be for? As long as you make a minimum payment on time, there should be no fee. Typically, a bank will negotiate with the payee to waive a fee in your behalf or they may pay the fee for you if it was their mistake. If there is a fee, call your bank before you call the card company.
