Whats fun to do around Hartford or Farmington, CT?
Not too much to do in Hartford, except the Mark Twain House. You can book a combined boat/train tour, which is quite interesting. If you`re into sports, the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA, is close. Then there are the Litchfield Hills, which are very nice during the fall, or drive down to Mystic, CT. Another nice place is Deerfield, MA, about one hour away. It is the home of Yankee Candle and Historic Deerfield is a gem. Boston is about two hours drive away (as is NYC), but driving downtown is hell and they charge a lot for parking a car. I`m sure there is a Greyhound connection, but cannot tell you for sure – I`m actually from Germany, but have travelled to New England at least once a year since 1995. Boston is definitely worth a visit.
