Whats for lunch?
My neighbor, Harriette, prepares all of our food the morning before departure. She is great!!! Anyway, we serve a massive pasta salad made with lots of garlic, parmesan cheese, and olive oil, the best BBQ chicken on Antigua, a huge mixed salad, plantain (a type of banana you have to cook), and later carrot cake for dessert.
Lunch is always the focal point of the day. Being on the water really works up an appetite, so before lunch we offer snacks to go with your après snorkel drinks. Our Buffet is then served under the shade awning and consists of Caribbean seasoned roast chicken, pasta salad with vegetables, two type of deviled eggs, banana bread, fresh tropical fruit, and double chocolate cake for dessert. Champagne is available as well as any of your favorite drinks. And remember, our bar is open all day for soft drinks, juices, water, cocktails and beer. Just ask the first mate if she doesn’t ask you first!
A. Four different box lunches will be available: turkey sandwich, vegetarian sandwich, Caesar salad with grilled chicken, and spicy noodle salad. Participants may not reserve a particular selection in advance. Those who have a strong preference are invited to arrive early to ensure receiving the lunch of their choice. Husky Career Lunch doors open at 12:15 p.m.
We will try to get half the hike done before we have lunch and there will be breaks in the morning and afternoon for a snack. Popular lunch items are sandwiches, bread, cheese, sausage, and fruit. Bring candy, energy bars (such as Power Bars), bagels, cookies, GORP, or chocolate as snacks and to munch on along the way. Chocolate chip cookies often come in handy as bribes for the hike leader.
