Whats DPI and how is it important?
DPI or DPC, if you’re one of them metric peoples, stands for Dots Per square Inch or Dots Per square Centimeter for metric. DPI only matters if you’re printing. If your stuff is for web, then forget you ever heard it. FORGET IT. In printing, basically, the printer shoots out dots of color to create the image. The more dots in every square inch, the more detailed the picture can be. Usually, large DPI settings are used for smaller canvases, and smaller DPI settings are used for larger canvases. 300 DPI is considered to be the “standard” DPI setting that most printers use. The DPI setting only matters for your final print size, it does not affect your pixel dimensions! Go here for more info.
