Whats different in an animal/plant cell?
Plant cell have cell wall which are made of cellulose it make a plant cell more rigid looking they also have chloroplast where photosynthesis takes place to make food for the plant. Animal cell contain a nucleus which carries the organism genetic code. Animal cell also have mitochondrion where cell respiration takes place to release energy for the organism to use.
Plant cells have cell walls, which make them appear rectangular-shaped. These structures are composed of cellulose, hemicellulose, and a variety of other materials. B) Plant cells have chlorophyll, the light-absorbing pigment required for photosynthesis. This pigment is contained in structures called chloroplasts, which makes plants appear green. C) Plants cells have a large, central vacuole. While animal cells may have one or more small vacuoles, they do not take up the volume that the central vacuole does (up to 90% of the entire cell volume!). The vacuole stores water and ions, and may be used for storage of toxins.
Animal cells are round w/ just a cell membrane surrounding. Plant cells are rigid, box-like due to a cell wall. Plant cells contain chloroplasts while animal cells don’t, thus plants are green. Animal cells have several small vacuoles but plant cells only have 1 big one. Plant cells have turgor pressure, to keep them from expanding too much. But animal cells can get really big & explode.
Plant cells have a cell wall that creates turgor pressure, and animal cells however animal cells undergo cytolysis (breaking of cells) through hypotonic environments (where the cell contains more solute than the outside solution). Plant cells contain cell membranes as well, and a cell wall which does give a rectangular shape but also prevents cytolysis. Plant cells also have vacuoles that store wastes and other materials whereas animal cells have lysosomes and peroxisomes. Plant cells have vacuoles that can range from big to small. The last thing that plant cells have are plastids. Plastids are only in Plant cells however they can act like mitochondrion in animal cells. Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the animal cell. Now there are many types of plastids (which the other answerers missed). The most common is chloroplast which absorb light for photosynthesis, but there are more such as Leucoplasts, chromoplasts, and much more. Hopefully that helps, and yes the people who have answered
