Independent contractors have the advantage in that they can take one job at a time, so while they’re on your job you get the impression that they are 110% there. They’re focusing on one job at a time versus a larger organization that has 20 jobs going on, which allows this person to basically be at your beck and call. They’re yours for the next week or three weeks or month. Q: How do you use independent contractors? A: I hire ICs for creative, technology and PR. They do the online creative for promotions that I’ve worked on. They design the entire promotion online, including an entry page, a rules page and a prize page.
