What’s different about the new Roth 401(k) compared to the current 401(k) option?
If you choose to participate, any contribution you make to the new Roth 401(k) will be made on a post-tax basis. At retirement, however, your distributions are tax-free (as long as you meet all criteria for qualified distribution). This contrasts with the current 401(k) option where contributions are made on a pre-tax basis… but taxed at the time of distribution.
