Whats different about the Collectors Editions of the manga?

0

Viz have made two versions of the Eva manga available – the normal version and a “Collector’s Edition”. There is absolutely no difference between the content of both editions – the difference is that the Collector’s Edition is unflipped. What does this mean? Books in Japan are read from right to left, and because of this, when manga is adapted for the English-speaking market, the artwork is flipped so that it would read from left to right. The Collector’s Edition is simply a translated, unflipped edition, so technically it looks like a backwards version of the normal edition. Collector’s Editions are available for both the monthly formats and the collected graphic novels.
