Avoid the Inspirons, those have very weak CPUs. And NEVER buy a slimline model- for gaming you’ll need a regular desktop or minitower because all gaming graphics cards are full-height and cannot fit into slimline cases. Morevover the slimline models don’t have enough room inside the case for proper cooling, and have weak power supplies. The most important factor for gaming performance is the graphics card. A Studio XPS 9000 would be great, provided you have a good graphics card like a Radeon 5770. But even the XPS 8100 (Core i5) is probably fine. The XPS 8100 with the Radeon 5770 easily outperforms the XPS 9000 with a GTS240. Obviously if your budget can accomodate it, get the XPS 9000 with it’s more powerful CPU. But not if that forces you to settle for a weaker graphics card.
