Whats cooking at ELC?
Last summer, Pennsylvania turned a corner in its funding of public schools, adopting a new state funding formula based on the “costing-out study” that ELC worked so hard to bring about. The formula has a six-year phase-in period, of which this was Year 1. Now, we’re working to help citizens persuade their lawmakers to stick with the new formula in Year 2 — as well as to address the funding needs of children with disabilities, a group who were left out of the discussions last year. As a recent report shows in dollars and cents, public education is truly Pennsylvania’s best investment, even in tough economic times.
