Whats Bid Day?
Bid Day is the actual day when you receive your invitations to join a Laurier fraternity or sorority. It is held on the 2nd Saturday of Rush – usually the last Saturday in September and January. Laurier’s Greek Groups use what is known as “open bidding” meaning it’s possible to receive a bid from more than one organization. Bids are distributed on Bid Day starting at 12 noon. No Laurier Greek organization may confer a bid – either implied or formally – prior to the 12 noon start-time. Similarly all groups are prohibited from offering bids earlier in the rush process. Groups can not ask you to accept their Bid on Bid Day, ensuring that you have a full 24 hours period to make an informed choice without feeling pressured. This grace period is particularly important if you get more than one Bid. [Return to the Frequently Asked Questions Main Menu] Where are the Rush events held?
