Whats better for a two year old, pre – school or a nanny?
If I had to choose, I think I would go with the nanny. S/He would be cheaper and give your child more one-on-one time than what a pre-school person does. Also, he might feel more comfortable at home, especially if you leaving is a new thing. (My two-year-old daughter and I attend a MOPS [Mothers of Preschoolers] group here in the States and the first four times or so I tried leaving her in the room with the other kids her age (even after building it up and telling her she might be able to play with another little girl from our church) and she freaked. It finally got to the point that for two consecutive times I had to just leave her. The first time a volunteer distracted her and the second time, I left her wailing for me. (I think that had to happen twice.) After that, she is happy to go. As for what she might and might not learn, it is dependent on both the pre-school and the nanny and what they do and don’t teach.
