By living close to campus, students have the option of going to their apartment during breaks to eat lunch. This option can save the student money by not having to buy more pricey food that is available on campus. Since Kirkwood does not offer dorms for students to live in, apartments close to campus provide students with a college-like feel. Living in a building filled with college students provides the opportunity to become acquainted with more Kirkwood students. Some apartments around campus can supply roommate matching. For students just starting school at Kirkwood, the apartment complexes provide questionnaires to match up students who would get along best when living together. Most apartment buildings located in the rest of Cedar Rapids do not provide this service. Along with roommate matching, apartments close to
