This is a tricky one to answer without seeing the bulkhead in question. It really depends on the extent of the rot and where it is situated. Widely available repair panels can fix such things as the footwells and the bulkhead corners. But that still leaves plenty of metal to worry about. Naturally, these problem areas are next to impossible to inspect properly without removing bodywork, the floor and the windscreen. Repairing a bulkhead is a slow and time-consuming business. You need good metal on which to weld, so be as sure as you can be the extent of the corrosion involved. It may look like bubbles on the surface, but underneath may tell a more chilling story. Either way, there’s no quick remedy. Good second hand bulkheads are becoming more difficult to find. New ones, when and if available, are expensive. Be aware, too, that bulkhead metal is very much thinner than chassis steel and so requires the attentions of a MiG welder, rod welding, in general, being a bit too brutal.
