Whats being planned for transportation systems?
The transportation strategy for the Energy Economic Zone calls for roads, streets, paths and sidewalks that provide safe, convenient, and energy-efficient travel for all modes of travel and emerging vehicle and transit technology. The Energy Economic Zone transportation framework will focus on pedestrian travel that influences building design and elevates design for pedestrian safety and comfort. Auto travel is still included in transportation system, though on more equal terms with pedestrian, bicycle and transit. The vision also includes planning for new electric vehicles, which will require additional research into the street systems, parking and power charging.
