New in the 2006-2009 Collective Agreement, the Employer committed to bringing these loads down to 2.5 for probationary and tenured members, starting 1 May 2008. The new language is specifically for units whose members don’t receive other course release (e.g., it’s not for units whose members routinely receive a 0.5 FCE reduction for membership in a graduate program). In a 13 January 2007 memo to YUFA’s President, the Employer committed to providing the necessary budgetary resources. At the time of writing, the meeting process set forth in clause 18.08.2 is underway.
