Since its beginning, professional football was a media-driven sport. One of America’s pastime would’ve failed without print, television and the internet. In our society, the press has always ruled. Reporters, sportscasters and analyst decided who they liked and who they didn’t. One part of football was players’ nicknames. These monikers were used to display someone’s competitiveness, attitude or ability.
