Whats been the scariest and funniest animals to have been in the studio?
The scariest animals we’ve had in the studio this time were the ones that feature in the ‘Brilliant But Deadly Top 5 Creature Countdown’, including a blue ringed octopus (the size of a 50p coin) that could kill you in under ten minutes, and a revolting fish whose sting is one of the most painful on earth. We had a safety meeting with the producers, vet and animal consultant who made it clear that there was no antivenom available for these creatures and if they bit or stung us we’d probably die! But the tiger and lion were also terrifying – their roars send shivers down your spine. Stephen was particularly scared of the two metre alligator he had to catch in America (you can see this in show two on the 19 June), but it’s actually very funny. The two tonne bull could have taken the studio apart single handed but in the end just fell asleep.
