Whats bad about Genetically modified food?

0

There’s nothing innately wrong with it. In fact, if we didn’t genetically modify (GM) foods, there’s a good chance that the large majority of society would simply not be able to avoid fresh fruit and vegetables or even any of their variants, simply because the yeild of the crop will be relatively diminished if they were 100% natural and unGMed crops. As a result, a large portion of the population will fall under a new range of socioeconomic bracket and as a result many risk factors of poor health. Scientifically speaking, there is nothing wrong with it. If there were serious, life threathening repercusions, GMing wouldn’t have hit the planning table. From a scientific point of view, it’s simply changing specific genes to make a more suitable (“better”) crop – which, might I add, is what evolution does in a more natural, round-a-bout way. From the point of view of the consumers, it seems the GM has a lot of bad stigma attached to it. I for one always avoid GM foods and I’m not even 100%
