This section is my personal introduction to those microprocessors I think are suitable for beginners. The simplest would be one of the Basic Stamp II versions – the other extreme would be an off-board Unix workstation running LISP. There is a lot of philosophical approach that enters here, as well as practicality, and, unfortunately, much computer machismo, as in my computer-can-beat-up-your-computer. Only microcontrollers are discussed here.
