Whats an ABDO iBook?
An ABDO iBook is an interactive picture book, graphic novel, or nonfiction book designed for supplemental reading practice at a computer, or for use on a SMART Board. Readers or teachers can click “Read to Me” at the start of the ABDO iBook, and the iBook will play, with the text highlighted while an entertaining audio track reads to the student. Each iBook includes a number of action and sound effects, clickable primary sources and read-aloud glossary terms, and an easy-to-click comprehension quiz at the end. One social studies ABDO iBook series – Our Nation’s Pride – includes 12 embedded video, audio, and primary source links on each spread.
