Whats a restricted and unrestricted free agent in the NBA?

An unrestricted free agent can be signed by any team and the player’s previous team can’t do a thing about it. A restricted free agent can sign an offer sheet with any team, and then the player’s previous team has a certain amount of time to decide whether to let the player go or match the contract offer. If they decide to match, the player is resigned by the previous team for the same terms as the offer from the other team. Most free agents are unrestricted. I believe the only restricted free agents are players coming off their initial rookie contracts.
