Whats a realistic expectation of Talent Agents?
A realistic expectation of them is truly dependent upon many variables. You mention that your city is not booming with entertainment and as we know you can not get blood from a stone. However, often industrials and commercials may be filmed in a city and you may have no clue that it is going on. Any agent worth signing with would know not only the big Oscar films being filmed there but also every itty bitty project. And you CAN expect them to submit you if you fit the roles the casting directors are looking to fill. Also remember if you are a tall, skinny, blonde and your city is crawling with tall, skinny blondes then an agent may not submit you even if you are perfect for a role if they have 50 people who look just like you which is why every actor MUST keep updated with their agents even if you have been with them for years. Get a new look- send them an updated headshot, book anything send them a postcard notifying them, have an extra box of candy on hand-send it to them with a note
