If you have been storing your references in Word or Excel, you might want to know if you can export them into your EndNote library. Unfortunately it is not possible to export data from either Excel or Word. You would need to create a record in EndNote for each item and copy and paste the data into the appropriate fields. However, there are some other options for adding references to your EndNote Library: • If you have journal references that you’d like to add to your EndNote Library, the best way to do this is to search for them on a bibliographic database and then export or import the records into EndNote – see our guide to Import filters and direct export features for specific instructions.
