Whats a MA Brewer Doing w/ MI Cherries?
I remember when I was in Belgium, before I turned 21 my friend took me to a pub so I could legally have a beer. At the time, I did not like beer at all, so I was at a lost as to what to drink. He suggested a flavored beer, saying that it would be lighter and the fruit flavor would mask the foreign taste. So, I had a Lindemans Kriek Lambic, which was a local cherry brew. At the time, I thought it was better than the non-flavored beers, but I was still not drinking much. Several years later, I came across Sam Adams Cherry Wheat. I thought I’d give it a try and see how my taste for cherry beer has evolved. Opening the bottle, I was hit immediately with the cherry scent. I was surprised at how strong the aroma was, since I usually do not pay attention to the way a beer smells. The pour left a light head which had faded by the second swallow.
