Whats a Halloween Turtle?
Also see – What’s a special turtle?, of which the Halloween Turtle is the first example. Halloween turtles were laid on 31st October 2009, as the first of the ‘special’ release turtles. Avatars breeding from turtles with special features (Crash turtles, Party Turtles, Glow turtles, shine turtles and possibly Anomoly turtles) were sometimes gifted with the arrival of a Halloween egg on this special day. Halloween eggs are denoted by the name ’09Halloween’ instead of the normal ‘Turtle’ name each egg has on being laid. Once hatched, halloween turtles will give you the following message on clicking them – “Boo!!! like my ghost costume? I am 10% ghost” (or 20% ghost). Halloween turtles came in (according to the Petable blog about these) five varieties, although so far I’ve only seen evidence across the grid of either a 10% or 20% transparency.
