Whats a good way to look at clean crime statistics?
Most agree that murder provides the most reliable statistics. “You can’t hide a body unless you’re mafia or something like that,” said New York Police Lt. Eugene Whyte, a nationally known crime statistics expert. Murder is the crime reported most accurately across all policing agencies. At the end of November of this year, the city’s number of murders, 149, was about 22 percent lower than at the same time the previous year. In 2006, Dallas finished the year with 184 murders, which at that point was the lowest number of murders since 1967 when there were 133.
