Clematis is good, maybe try a Viburnum too. English Ivy will get out of hand. Grapes are good, but do require some special pruning to look good. Trumpet vines are very pretty, but they really love to climb, but they do attract hummingbirds! If you are looking more for an annual then morning glory is a good choice, as are purple Hyacinth bean vines.
