Whats a good recipe for whole wheat pizza dough?
Answer I found a really great one. This recipe follows very basic bread making guidelines. If you are new to this type of baking, pizza dough is a great start and fun way to practice. Remember that whole wheat has a different texture and is slightly sweet so you may want to try less traditional toppings that compliment those flavors. Experiment with different cheeses and veggies. I personally love roasted chicken breast (sliced thin)and marinated artichoke hearts on a white sauce like Alfredo with mozzarella/parmesan…yummy. INGREDIENTS 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour 1 cup of unbleached, all purpose flour 2 packages of dry active yeast 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon of sugar 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water from the tap 1/2 teaspoon olive oil Flour for the work surface Sprinkling of cornmeal Place flour, yeast, salt and sugar in a mixer fitted with a dough hook. While mixer is running, gradually add water and knead on low speed until dough is firm and smooth, about ten minutes. Turn machine off.
