Whats a good digital SLR camera for field work / biologist / walking?
You will be better off getting a higher end bridge camera than a DSLR, especially if you are out in the field a lot. The advantages being that it will be lighter, as you will not have to carry around extra equipment such as lenses, and most, if not all bridge cameras, will have a macro mode on them anyway. http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywo… Depending on the size of filter thread, (if available on the lenses) and you wanted to get in really close for your macro shots, you could get a set of Close Up Lenses ( http://www.omaxphoto.com/digital-camera-… ) from Ebay.
