Whats a good condenser microphone for male vocal?
I think with a condenser, you usually get what you pay for, but to answer your question, I don’t think there is a condenser that is specifically suitable for the male voice. In my experience, it is dynamic mic’s that are more limited in their application rather than condensers. For recording purposes a condenser is certainly the best choice., but the USB versions tend to be at the low end of the market, retailing around the $100 mark. The best quality units are still the studio mic’s which will require an XLR cable and phantom power. As your other respondent has said, you may be better off investing in a studio quality microphone and a USB interface. However, the USB interface could easily set you back a couple of hundred dollars… As I see it you have two choices: Get yourself the best USB condenser you can find (Samson G-Track or Marshall MXL USB.006) Get yourself a USB interface (M-Audio or similar) and an AKG mic…
