Well the Shure SM57 is the standard for recording guitar amps. A good vocal microphone is a different story. The SM58 is the go-to mic for live vocals, but it’s not that great for recording… you want a larger diaphragm condenser mic for that. They have USB versions of the 57 and 58, if you’re not using an audio interface, go with them. There’s lots of budget microphone bundles available from places like Guitar Center, Sam Ash, or MusiciansFriend.com Just head over take a look at what they’ve got. Someone should be able to help you find something within your budget.
