Whats a good brand of Balsamic Vinegar and Red Wine Vinegar to use in recipes?

I have never been able to taste much difference between brands of Red Wine Vinegar. I use Heinz because it is readily available, but I would just as easily try another brand if it were cheaper. I only use it for my home made submarine sandwiches.

The cheap Balsamic are nothing more than Soy Sauce with additional Brown Sugar. Don’t waste your money on these. Just buy cheap soy sauce and dark brown sugar, heat the soy in a pan and melt brown sugar in it until the desired taste is achieved. A young Balsamic Vinegar is aged for 10-12 yrs. and a 3 – 4 oz. bottle should cost in the neighborhood of $20 or more. This aged Balsamic is great for making Vinegrette dressing and cooking. Longer aged Balsamics can be very expensive. Some 25 -50 yr. aged Balsamic’s will cost several hundred dollars for a small bottle. These Balsamics should never be used for cooking. Just add a little to salads, desserts etc.
