Whats a good age to begin going away in the summer?
That depends on the maturity level of the dancer. Most programs will take dancers as young as 10. And some dancers are ready at that age while others are not. Only a good, frank discussion between you, your ballet teacher, and your parents can really answer that question. In general, we encourage our BCA dancers to take their first summer intensive at BCA. That way they’ll get excellent training, learn what a summer intensive is like, and still have the comforts of home. After that first summer, they’ll most likely be ready to dance at a summer intensive away from home.
