Whats a cool idea to make household decorations out of recycled items?
You can make just about anything out of recycled items! A great resource is the following book: Ready Made: How to Make (Almost) Everything http://www.amazon.com/ReadyMade-Almost-E… This book has instructions on how to make bookshelves from shoe boxes, a water bottle planter, a bird feeder from multiple martini glasses, a dog bed from old jeans, etc. It provides a really unique perspective on recycling. Some of the projects are very simple and can be completed quickly, but others are fairly detailed and will require special tools and a lot of time. However, the results are well worth it! Unlike many homemade projects, these have a classy, clean look to them. Before buying the book, you may want to check your local library. I know that I checked out my copy from my neighborhood branch initially.
