Whats a Bid and how do I get a one?

0

A Bid is an official invitation to join a particular fraternity or sorority. Bids are extended during the second Saturday of Rush to those who have visited the fraternity, met most of the members, and expressed an interest in the fraternity and who meet that groups criteria. Do not feel obligated to accept a bid until you are sure that you have made the best decision. Some groups allow you to defer a Bid – meaning decide not to pledge now but, instead reserve a spot in the future. Be aware that not all groups off deferring options and may instead insist that you rush again and be re-evaluated should you choose to decline a bid when it’s originally offered. Also understand that Rush and Bidding is competitive at Laurier. Not everyone that wants a bid will get one.
