What year were spaceships invented?
That is a tricky question. I don’t believe anyone can actually claim credit for ‘inventing’ spaceships. The concept of space travel goes back to the beginning of recorded time with various gods and goddess traveling around the heavens. However I don’t think sky boats and flaming chariots are what you’re asking about. I believe the first serious thoughts about building a practical spaceship began in the mid 19th century with the writings of Jules Vern. Many people since then have came up with a myriad of ideas for spaceships. The first “spaceship” if you will was probably the capsule which launched Yuri Gagarin into orbit in April of 1961. It was little more than a cramped capsule with a few thrusters and that was about it. Things have progressed a long way since then, from the moon landings, to the space shuttle and the international space station. So to answer your question. I humbly submit, I don’t know. I don’t think any one person can take credit for inventing spaceships.
