What year did the great depression end?

The Great Depression in economical figures did not end until the height of U.S. production during World War II, I am pretty sure by mid 1942, I remember reading a book on this I don’t think it was past then.

oh damm i wusz learning bout dat today i dink it wusz Dec.7, 1941 bt really It didn’t end, really. There were still a lot of problems going on at the time the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. It was only after that when we got involved with the war, producing new machinery, airplanes, ammunition, bombs, etc, that the nation became busy, and a lot of new jobs were available. It gave the illusion that we were doing better.
