What would you do with an exabyte of data storage capacity?

Apple’s new NC datacenter is potentially capable of holding a data volume approximately equal to the sum of all recorded information, in any form, through the 20th century. You want to see something really scary? Take a look at Apple’s new data facility in NC from Google’s bird: Latitude: 35°35’20.30″N Longitude: 81°15’34.52″W. What do you see? While I’m well aware of the sequential tasking of the satellites, the image referenced above is clearly from an earlier flyby. There are a number of elements that indicate the above image is not simply a “tiling” effect. Elements such as variations in opacity, rough edges between image tiles as well as the fact that the edge of these intersections is neither straight nor does it follow a great circle path indicate to me that the visible image layer was manipulated. After some less than trivial image enhancement I’ve been able to identify the watermarked dates on the lower layer of Google’s currently displayed satellite image of Apple’s NC site.
