What would we do if we didn have fossil fuels and only renewable energy source a?

0

If we suddenly lost all our fossil fuel tomorrow, we would all end up extremely poor. Lots of people would starve due to lack of fuel for farm machinery and food transport. Almost no transportation would work and the electricity supply would be less than 10% of what it is now. If we had never had fossil fuels, we would be poorer than we are now, but more prepared to deal with that and so probably not as poor as if we had it suddenly taken away tomorrow. Most people would be growing food by hand on small local farms, cities would be much smaller, there would probably be a landed gentry that constituted a very small percentage of the population, and slavery might even still be widespread.
