WHAT WOULD REGGAE music do tomorrow if Beres resigned?
Who would fill his shoes? Should anyone even fill his shoes? These questions rocked THE STAR as we chatted with Beres recently. He explained that due to some of the things he sees happening in the music business, sometimes he thinks about hanging up the mic and the pen. Beres told THE STAR that these days, the question tags his mind every now and then and he thinks about retiring. “I think about it sometimes, because some of the things in the music that I see I don’t like,” he stated. Social changes Beres mentioned that he was not one to bash people, but his concerns ranged from the negativity in the business which the media focuses on, to the stifling of good quality music from the airwaves, to the way some deejays and/or singers behave with the public.” “I was brought up in the 60s, but I started my career in the late 70s.
