What would Philippines be like without the Spanish influence?

0

If you look at countries under Spanish influence: Philippines, Mexico, etc., they have been slow to progress due to the Spanish looking down on ‘indios’ or indigenous cultures. The Spanish destroyed written archives of the native Filipinos and taught corruption and inefficiency. They brought out of the Philippines untold riches in gold and precious stones. The Philippines would have been a lot better off if the Spanish never arrived. Spain has yet to make amends for all the atrocities and thievery they committed while occupying the Philippines for 300 years.
