What would my salary be based on jobs advertised per hour?
The way these things are calculated is based on a 2080 hr work year. So let’s say you make 24000. Divide that by 2080 and you get 11.54. Reversely, if you make 10 pounds per hour, multiply by 2080 and you get: 20800 a year.. BTW: 2080 is 40 hrs per week x 52 weeks Which is Full time. This would include paid vacation and sick time as nearly every job in the Western Hemisphere provides a set number of PAID time off for those events. That how it is calculated here in the USA. Since you mention pounds, I must deduct that you are in the UK. Not sure how they do it, but based on the location of the steering wheel and the orientation of traffic, I would assume it is “different”.
I think it all works out differently. If you did a job that was salaried at say £20,000 you could end up being paid more, or less for the same job with hourly pay. For example, my brother is a teacher, but he doesn’t want to stay in this particular school for long. If he was salaried (£22,000 a year) he would have to give 2 months notice to leave. He opted to take hourly pay, I don’t know at how much per hour. He chose this as it would mean only needing to give one month notice. Anyway, I am not sure how close to the £22,000 he actually gets, or wether he gets more. I do know that whereas the other teachers get paid monthly, he does not get paid at all during the holidays, as he is not working.
