I have a 1997 Chevrolet Malibu and every once in a while the ABS brake light comes up on my dash…and then it will go out for a day or so and then come back on again. A: ABS is computer controlled. It is performing a continuous check on itself to assure proper operation in case of an accident. An intermittent ABS light may be a minor issue but should be looked at immediately given its importance. The potential failures are numerous so I can’t guess. Good Luck!
