Listen to Dr R it can be done but due to escape Velocity maintenance would be difficult. Moon does not have a differentiated core thus low escape velocity mars is a much better candidate due to core and water. Trivia: compasses do not work on the moon because it does not have a differentiated core. If maintaining the atmosphere dilema is overcome (Moon or Mars) creating it would be much like it was created on earth. Earth used to be uninhabitable due to radiation no ozone and oxygen. It was not habitable by aerobic land creatures until ocean dwelling prokaryotes began to photosynthesize and oxygenate the atmosphere that creatures could move to land. Don’t remember details on ozone formation to block radiation (look up magnetosphere) but long story short earth was once very Martian like. I recently watched a program on the History Channel about what would be required to colonize mars. Step one is creating the greenhouse effect to warm up the planet and create a c02 atmosphere then let p
