What would i mix food coloring with to make dye and how can i make it perminate?
The dye is already in the food colouring. What you need is a place for the dye to be absorbed. One way is to use bleach to remove your natural colour and to open up the hair. The dye then will show up better on light coloured hair, and will be able to get into the hair. To make the dye permanent, you need a little acid. The easiest thing to use is a bit of vinegar. And you will need some heat to make the dyes “set”. Apply the dye mixture to damp hair and then cover with a plastic wrap to keep it wet. Apply some heat either with a hot hood dryer, or sit in the sun. Allow as long a time as you can for the dye to penetrate deeply and lock itself in. If it doesn’t get hot enough, it won’t last very long. Keep the hair damp at all times.
