What would happens if someone was to get caught stealing?
stealing is not acceptable and is dishonest. Still, the consequences aren’t too high for shoplifting, especially if it’s not anything big. You can get into trouble and be fined and stuff, but it is very unlikely something like jail time would happen. In fact, often in these sorts of cases, a person will just sort it out with the person they stole from. If the police are involved, you might have to go to the district court (That’s what it is called in New Zealand, I don’t know about other places) but I don’t think the consequences would be too dire, especially if it’s a first offense. Still, stealing is morally wrong, and you shouldn’t consider it.
