That depends on how large of a meteor it is. It may just put another hole, amongst many others, on the surface. If it is more on the scale of an asteroid then you would see a much larger hole. It will most likely eject material from the surface in to space, some of which may enter orbit around the moon, keep going, or get caught by the Earth’s gravity. If it is really large it could break up pieces of the moon creating more projectiles (possibly send them our way). The moon is essentially a large rock, with a large enough object, moving fast enough, large pieces could come off (such as a fifth of the moon, but it would most likely break into smaller pieces. If a really large object plowed into the moon, it most likely would not be intact, but we would want it and the moon to break up into as small of a piece as possible so when/if the pieces do reach our atmosphere, they will burn up before entering the stratosphere.
