What would happen if the average temperature of the earth rose by 5 degrees?
The ocean’s temperatures would rise, causing more hurricanes. There would likely be an increase in the humidity in the air. The temperatures would generally rise around the globe and cause other problems. Numerous species of animals would also go extinct. Some people theorize that the polar ice caps would begin to melt (they already have somewhat) and flood coastal areas. Keep in mind that a rise in the average temperature as little as a 2 or 3 degrees would be horrible, much less 5 which could be catastrophic.
