What would happen if I completely dunked my fiberglass cast in water?
Fiberglass is waterproof. The only effect submerging a Fiberglass Cast in water is that the padding inside the cast will become wet. Once wet, the cast will become very uncomfortable, stinky, and will rub sores on the injured limb because of the wet padding. I recommend waiting for your doctor to remove the cast, he/she will do it correctly and can determine if the fracture(s) are healed.
